Sam B's Blue S2 Rallye (Yer another 106)

I keep making these but i helps me keep up to date with all the mods/servicing/issues i have with the cars.

Well i brought another 106 Rallye, this time a Blue S2 rallye (used to belong to Braderz on here).

Got it about 3 weeks ago now and already started playing with it .

Heres a couple of pics

Fitted some group n engine mounts already for a dashboard shake feel. Also fitted new genuine pug side decals. Also changed the rocker cover and gasket, oil and filter change

couple more pics

Only issue i have atm, is the strutbrace rattles on the underside of the bonnet (proper annoying). So even though i lowered the bonnet so it fitted correctly it rattled, so moved it back up for the moment. its a 16v strutbrace, anyone else had this?

I'll keep you updated

Well haven't spent any money on her really yet. Couple of minor parts.

Fitted some eBay bargin tow stickers.

Went to combe to test her on track. A little lacking in power but very good for a 8v. Getting stuck in with the proper weapons (the M3 quickly went past me lol)

Need a couple of bits doing, getting some Compomotive MO's and GTI-6 Brakes in the next week or so. Also one of my top mounts need reaplacing and my pugsport has snapped one of it hangers, bad times.

Am still toying with 16v's but don't know yet i quite like the 8v but its just not quite there!

That would be me! Drive past it about 6 times a day LOL. What time was it? You wasn't in a gti by chance?

I'll be taking it to the garage first thing tomorrow to have the hole car looked over and get a defient answer to it. If it's the beam I'll be getting it rebuilt, there goes my comps and brakes. Pow

Lovely looking motor!

Are you finally happy with the choice after having a good number of the 106 family ? ;P

Has your old XSi popped up anywhere?

Yer Happy with this one, was with all of them just one of those people who chops and changes alot. Will stick at this one for a while though.

I heard the guy had some problemsm with it then it was sold on again. TBH i wish i'd just broke it for parts, could have used some of the bits really

Im currently awaiting a phone call from the garage who are trying to figure out whats wrong with it

grage say they can only find one rattle (which is my strutbrace on the bonnet) Appart from that nothing.

Well it still make the noise having picked it up from the garage but then the throttle cable snapped! got a new one on the way from my mate at pug

Right then,

My throttle cable snapped as you know which was a nice easy job (or would have been if i had a decent set of wire cutters). Fixed that thursday night.

Now this noise i have from my rear beam, it got louder yesterday so had to book it in somewhere. went to take it to the garage this mor ning hoping they could look at it but i would unfotunately have to wait to till thursday so gave up hoping it would be fine for the weekend. went and saw neil and looked at spec Rs new pad

Then when i got home i had a look at this beam the drivers side arb plate had some movement in it

Took off the passenger side and the arb was hanging out *bollocks* luckily after fitting a new bolt it seems to be fine for now but had battered my tyre to pecies (it use to have Yokohama and be textured there)

Oh and i also painted my rear calipers while i was at it.

Yer i maybe organising a group buy on carbon caps not sure yet. Got my carbon handle covers but they are a tight fit!

Also currently rolling on black 205 alloys with silver lip to preserve my R888s (thanks again dan) Looking for Comp 2s atm though.

How it is on the 205s for the time being

Not to bad i think

Got a list of stuff that needs doing before this weekend

Paint front Calipers
Give the car a proper clean inside and out (its filthy, dash has dust on it lol)
Fit Door handle covers
Move bonnet latch pin up.
Give all the fluids etc a check over

We will see how far i get lol
